Registered Users Who Cannot Log In Anymore

It is very common for alumni to register on LCAalumni and then get busy with life again, only later to come back to the web site and find that they can no longer remember their password, username, or they cannot use the current tool to reset their password, because their email address has changed since they registered (or is forgotten). Hey, relax! I am happy fix this for you. In fact, I recognized at my 20-year reunion that I needed to add a special section to show alumni how to go about getting back into their accounts on LCAalumni, so here it is.

PROBLEM 1: I do not remember my username

Finding your username is easy.

1) Click on the red button that is labeled "Alumni".
2) Select your 'Graduation Year' from the pulldown menu.
3) Click the button at the bottom that is labeled "Search".
4) The web page with all of your classmates' names will appear along with their usernames. Find your name in the list and you will find your username.

PROBLEM 2: I forgot my password

This is the most common problem. In order to reset your password on your own, you will have to have access to the email address you used when you registered. If your email address has changed and you do not have access to your old email address, you will need to send an email to lcaadmin @ lcaalumni.com (remove the spaces beside the @ symbol) and I will manually reset it for you. Please do not hesitate to ask me for help. I want everyone to be able to use LCAalumni! If for some reason I do not respond within a couple of days, the mail server may be experiencing problems, so post a message on the messageboard.

If you DO have access to the email address you used when you registered:

1) Click this link: http://www.lcaalumni.com/woltlab/wbboard/misc2.php?action=forgotpw.
2) Highlight and delete the word "Guest".
3) Type your username.
4) Click the button that is labeled "Send".
5) Check your email's Inbox for a new email containing your new password.

PROBLEM 3: I do not remember my email address or my email address has changed

Here is the way I handle these two scenarios:

Scenario 1: I cannot remember what email address I used when I registered.

I can lookup the email address you used when you registered and tell you what the address was. If you still have access to this email address, you can follow the instructions for PROBLEM 2 in the section above this one in order to reset your password. Send an email requesting this to lcaadmin @ lcaalumni.com (remove the spaces beside the @ symbol).

Scenario 2: I do not have access to the email address I used when I registered.

You will need to email me your current email address. After verification, I will manually change your email address to the new one you provide me. Then you will use the password reset tool by following the instructions for PROBLEM 2 in the section above this one in order to reset your password. Send an email requesting this to lcaadmin @ lcaalumni.com (remove the spaces beside the @ symbol).
